Joseph Patsey

January 15, 1921 — December 28, 2008

Joseph Patsey of Masury, Ohio, departed this Earth at 4:40 AM Sunday (12-28-2008) in the Sharon Regional Health Care System following a brief illness. He was 87. Mr. Patsey was born in West Middlesex, Pennsylvania on January 15, 1921, a son of James and Angeline (Pettitte) Patsey. He attended West Middlesex High School and received a diploma from Black River High School. Joseph went on to serve our country in the U.S. Army during WWII. Mr. Patsey retired from WESEX Corporation in 1983 after 36 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sharon. Joe was an avid sports fan. He starred in basketball at West Middlesex and for the U.S. Army. He also played and coached baseball in West Middlesex. For many years, he supported Brookfield High School Sports and was a member of the Sideliners Club. One of his greatest enjoyments in life was watching and rooting for his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing. Survivors include: his loving wife of 60 years, Josephine Kollar, whom he married July 24, 1948; his children, Arlene Evans & her husband James, Brookfield, OH, Jim Patsey, Stewart, OH, and Larry Patsey, Masury, OH; his sisters, Jennie Antonovich and Minnie Patsey, both of Ocala, FL; his grand-children, Nicole Rainier & her husband Rob, and Sean Patsey; his step-granddaughter, Cassandra Davidson; his great-grandchildren, Lauren & Jack Rainier; and his step-great-grandchildren, Victoria, Makayla, Andrew, and Evan Davidson. He was preceded in death by his parents; by his grandson, James Joseph (JJ) Patsey; by his brothers, Michael & Tony Patsey; and by his sister, Carmella Scutillo. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday (12-31-2008) at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Rev. Henry C. Andrea, Pastor. Burial will be in Brookfield Township Cemetery with full military honors. As an expression of sympathy, the family suggests contributions can be made to the church, 40 S.
