Joseph Stephen Skoda Jr.

CANFIELD-Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10AM Friday, February 10, 2006 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Austintown for Joseph S. Skoda Jr. of Plumbrook Dr in Austintown, who passed away at 9:30AM Sunday in Omni Manor Nursing Center. Joseph was 61. Joseph was born on August 15, 1944 in Youngstown, Ohio and was the only son of Joseph S. Skoda Sr. and Barbara (Paladenech) Skoda. Joseph was a graduate of Wilson High School in Youngstown. Joseph was currently employed with General Motors in Lordstown, where he was an assembler for the last 35 years. Joseph was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Joseph married the former Margaret Zetts on April 16, 1966 and she preceded him in death on February 17, 1985. Joseph is survived by three sons 1st Lt Joseph Skoda III married to Esther L. Skoda of California, Brian Skoda and Thomas Skoda of Austintown; four sisters Catherine Susany of Youngstown, Barbara married to Bob Hough of Canfield, Madeline married to John Rosace of Girard, and Diana Prato of Austintown; four grandchildren Joseph IV, Jesse, Milinda, and Tommy Skoda; and a host of nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, Joseph was preceded in death by his parents. Family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Thursday, February 9, 2006 in the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel, and closing prayers will be recited at 9:30 AM on Friday prior in leaving for church. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the family.
