Josephine Mae Hendricks, age 89 of Salem, died Saturday morning, April 26, 2014, at Shepherd of the Valley in Howland. She was born October 25, 1924 in Salem, the daughter of the late Matthew and Mae Gamble Hans. Josephine was a graduate of Goshen Union High School in Demascus and was a homemaker all of her married life. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Salem for over 30 years. Her husband, Burt A. Hendricks preceded her in death in 1993. Two brothers and one sister also preceded her in death. Josephine is survived by two daughters, Deri (William) Hanlon of Howland and Pam (Ed) Lair of Louisville, OH; one son, Dan (Sandi) Hendricks of Salem; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Private family services will be held. Burial will be at Hope Cemetery in Salem at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren.
