Josephine Sartori

Josephine Valent Sartori a lifetime resident of Masury, OH passed away at 5:45 PM Thursday evening May 20, 2010 at O’Brien Nursing Home in Masury, OH. She was 89 years old. Mrs. Sartori was born in Sharon, PA on December 9, 1920, a daughter of Joseph and Veronica (Wasko) Valent. She was a graduate of Brookfield High School and went on to marry Roy R. Sartori on May 3, 1941. Josephine owned and operated her own real estate and home rental business in Masury for many years until her retirement. She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sharon, PA and had enjoyed dancing and rose gardening. She is survived by her two sons Dr. Roy J. Sartori. and his wife Christine of Sharpsville, PA, Thomas V. “Muzzy” Sartori of Brookfield, OH; her two daughters Nancy Jo Sopko and her husband Ron of Estero, FL and Salle Horning and her husband Chris of Masury, OH; four grandchildren Ronald Sopko Jr, David A. Sopko, Zachary Sartori, and Ricki Roy Horning; four great-grandchildren Jonathan Sopko, Michael Sopko, Jena Sopko, and Loni Sopko; her sister Mary Kathryn Sartori of Cortland, OH; and her god children Hank Gilliland and Steve Zanolli. She was preceded in death by her husband on August 27, 1981, her brother Edward Valent, and by her three sisters Mildred Valent, Margaret Kushner, and Vera Sabol. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Monday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church 7808 Locust Street Masury, OH with the Rev. Frank Zanni as Celebrant. Calling hours will be held on Sunday afternoon from 2-5 PM at the Lane Funeral Homes, Madasz Chapel, 6923 Warren-Sharon Road in Brookfield, OH. Burial will be with her husband in Brookfield Township Cemetery.
