Joyce Elaine Johnson

Joyce Elaine Johnson, age 71, of Masury, OH, passed unexpectedly on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at her residence. She was born on September 2, 1940 in Sharon, PA, a daughter of the late Alex Torok and the late Mary Listopad Torok. Joyce was a 1959 graduate of Brookfield High School, retired in 1996 from the dietary department of UPMC in Farrell after 29 years and was a member of the Moose Lodge # 55, Farrell, PA. Joyce, affectingly known as "Momma", enjoyed sewing, crafting, bingo, baking and computer games and puzzles. She leaves behind her husband, Sam Johnson, whom she married on November 22, 1996; a son, Dewayne Ferrara of Erie, PA, two daughters, Valerie (Tim) Furey of Erie, PA and Patrice (Jerry) Banch and a granddog "Miracle" of Hermitage, PA, two sisters, Mary Ellen (Charles) Shabla of Vienna, OH and Kathleen (John) Zurko of Hermitage, PA, three step-daughters, Neva Johnson of Brookfield, Stacy Johnson of Brookfield and Jennifer Johnson of Sharpsville, PA. Also surviving are many grandchildren, three nephews four nieces and several great nephews and nieces. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 9, 2012 from 4PM 7PM at the, Madasz Funeral Chapel in Brookfield. Services will be held on Friday, February 10, 2012 at 11AM at the funeral home where the family will again receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Brookfield Twp.
