June Brownlie

June 6, 1922 — March 4, 2015

YOUNGSTOWN- June (Meserlin) Brownlie, 92, passed away peacefully Monday, March 2, 2015. She was born June 6, 1922, in East Orange, NJ, daughter of the late Albert and Janette (Bogert) Meserlin. In her younger days, June worked for several years with Prudential Insurance and the Schering Corporation. She moved with her husband, Raymond Brownlie, to Youngstown in 1966. She was an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and served there as an Elder. June was always very active with her fine skills as a painter and put her creativity to work in many different ways. She taught water color at Park Vista and the Butler Institute of American Art, where she gained the status Docent Emeritus. June's designing abilities can be found everywhere. She designed the 75th anniversary logo for the City of East Orange, the logo for the Eastminster Presbytery, and she designed, painted for, and decorated many churches. June was a member of the Mahoning Valley Water Color Society and her work was exhibited at the Butler Institute, and at the International Miniature Art Expo in Nutley, NJ. Left to mourn June's passing are her sons, Barry (Lana) Veverka-Brownlie of Los Angeles, CA, Ken Brownlie of Cleveland, Craig (Suzanne Brendze) Brownlie of Rochester, NY; and her grandchildren, Matthew, Trevor, Rachael and Aaron Brownlie. Other than her parents and her loving husband of 68 years, Raymond H. Brownlie, who passed away on August 24, 2013, June is preceded in death by her sister Lorraine Schwartz; her brothers, twins, Albert and Robert Meserlin; her twin brother Harold Meserlin; and her daughter-in-law Jeanne Brownlie. The family will receive friends from 10AM-11AM on Saturday March 7, 2015 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 119 Stadium Drive, Boardman, OH 44512. A funeral service will follow at 11AM. Interment will take place on a later date at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to Senior Independence Hospice & Home Health, 6715 Tippecanoe Rd, Canfield, OH 44406.
