Kenneth D. Carlton

Kenneth D. Carlton, age 89, of Cortland, Ohio, died Thursday, April 17, 2008, at the Cortland Healthcare Center in Cortland. He was born on June 26, 1918 in Girard, OH., the son of the late Lloyd Carlton and the late Martha (McFadden) Carlton. Mr. Carlton was a member of the Cortland Christian Church and had worked at Republic Steel for 38 years as a machinist, retiring in 1982. He enjoyed shopping at garage sales and auctions as well as riding his bicycle. Kenneth is survived by his wife Helen (Huffman) Carlton, whom he married on May 18, 1974; one daughter, Joyce Strang of Williamsfied, OH., four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Edward Carlton. Private family services will be held at a later date. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel.
