Kenneth P. Kiger --86 Youngstown—Services will be 10 am Monday in Zion Lutheran Church for Kenneth P. Kiger, 86 of Youngstown who passed away Thursday afternoon in Forum Northside Hospital. Ken was born July 12, 1918 in Bethel W Va. the son of Earl and Bertha M. (Patterson) Kiger. He was Messenger and Manager for Brinks Armored Car for 44 years. Ken was a member of the church, a 1939 graduate of Mt. Morris High school where he participated in athletics, a WWII veteran of the Navy serving in the Pacific Fleet earning a Coxswain America Area Asiatic Pacific Victory Medal. An avid bowler for more than 52 years, Ken was also a member of the American Bowling Association. He was also a member of various humane organizations. His wife the former Ilene Hines whom he married June 30, 1939 passed away May 12, 1989. Ken leaves his children Ray Kiger of Boardman, Delores (David) Schreckengost of Houston, TX, Vickie (Mike) Pallotta of Canfield , Linda (Allen) Shahin of Grand Terrace Cal, and Faye (Randy) Aliff of Youngstown, a sister Faye Dimmick of Bellaire Oh, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and his beloved animals; Socks and Lance. Besides his wife, Ken is preceded in death by a daughter Carol and a son Earl Kiger, and three brothers Fred, Donald, and Ray Kiger. Family and friends may call from 3 to 6 pm Sunday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial tributes are made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
