Kenneth R. Remias

Kenneth "Remo" R. Remias of Vienna Twp., Ohio, passed away on Saturday at Northside Hospital in Youngstown, OH. He was 59 years old. Mr. Remias was born in Youngstown, OH during the "Big Snow" on November 22, 1950, a son of John and Elizabeth (Machel) Remias. Mr. Remias was a 1968 Graduate of Mathews High School and went on to attend Youngstown College where he graduated in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He worked for Delphi Packard in the accounting department for more than thirty-years before his retirement in 2003. Throughout his life "Remo" enjoyed golfing, watching baseball and had been an Umpire with the Vienna Youth Baseball League for more than thirty-years, and had enjoyed walking with his faithful dog Hunter. An avid history buff, Ken was a member of the Mahoning Valley Civil War Society and the World War II Memorial Society. He was a life long member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Youngstown, OH. Mr. Remias is survived by his two brothers William Remias of Phoenix, AZ and Dave Remias and his wife Lynda of Girard, OH; three sister-in-laws Margaret Remias of Austintown, OH, Evelyn Remias of Sparks, NV, and Susan Scheidly of Newton Falls, OH; and by his many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his three brothers John, Raymond and Donald Remias. Calling hours will be held Monday December 21, 2009 at the Lane Funeral Homes Madasz Chapel Brookfield, Ohio from 4-8 PM. Friends may call one hour prior (10:00-11:00AM) to the funeral services on Tuesday December 22, 2009 at 11:00AM at St. John's Lutheran Church 1429 Mahoning Ave, Youngstown, Ohio 44509 with the Rev. Gary Schrecengost. as Pastor. Entombment will be in Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna, OH.
