Laird E. Minick

Mineral Ridge- Funeral services will be held 10 AM Thursday at the Lane Funeral Home-Mineral Ridge Chapel for Laird E. Minick, age 81 who passed away Sunday, Jan 25, 2009, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his family. Laird was born June 15, 1927 in Dora, Pennsylvania and was the son of the late Guy George and Ruby Irene Minick. He was employed as an autobody repairman for over 50 years at Wilt Pontiac, Fleck Pontiac, Trotter Pontiac and Greenwood Chevrolet of Austintown where he retired in 1993. He was a member of the Niles Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. His family was his passion and nothing made him happier than spending time with them. His wife, the former Marjorie Mae Kane, whom he married June 11, 1949 died February 20, 2004. He is survived by a daughter Sherry (Bob) Ault of Mineral Ridge and two sons, Ronald of Mineral Ridge and Randy (Bianca) Minick of Austintown. He leaves six grandchildren, Alycia and Ryan Minick, Shannon (DJ) Coleman, Karen (Tony) Brown, and Megan and Kelsey Ault. Laird also leaves six great grandchildren, Breanna, Lexy, Hannah, Dennis Coleman, Taylor Minick and Alayna Dean. He leaves his siblings Russell (Joan) Minick of Niles and Betty Barnett of Missouri. Laird also appreciated the comfort and care given by Marvolyn Naples and Jason Dean. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents and a brother Darl Minick. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 PM Wednesday. The family requests that material contributions be made to the Niles Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
