Larry Clayton Jones, 73 of Howland Township, died Monday morning, March 4, 2013, at his son's home in Howland. He was born November 4, 1939 in Warren the son of the late Clayton Jones and Bernadine Lambert Jones of Warren. He and his wife, Sally had lived in Cortland for several years. Larry was a 1957 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. He was a Navy veteran, serving from 1957 to 1960. He retired from Ajax Magnathermic in Warren as a sales engineer, where he worked for over 30 years. Larry was a member of Champion Presbyterian Church, where he served on the board of elders. He was an active member of Gideons International and enjoyed representing them at the Warren Relay for LIfe. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. Larry was an avid Browns and Ohio State football fan. His wife of 47 years, Sara Louise "Sally" Crowe Jones, whom he married July 7, 1962, preceded him in death October 2, 2009. Surviving are one son, Jon C. Jones of Howland; one daughter, Tami L. (Michael) Szuba of Howell, Mich.; his mother, Bernadine Jones of Warren; five grandchildren, Ian and Alexa Jones and Sara, Ethan and Natia Szuba; three brothers, William, Lynn and Richard Jones all of Warren and one sister, Penelope "Penny" Jones of Virginia. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Champion Presbyterian Church, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Pastor Marvin Barney will officiate and military honors will be accorded at the church. Per Larry's wishes, cremation will take place. Memorial contributions may be made to the memorial fund at Champion Presbyterian Church, 4997 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren, OH 44483 or to Gideons International, P.O. Box 4252, Warren, OH 44482. Arrangements were entrusted to Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel.
