Larry Gene York

Services will be 1 pm Tuesday at the Lane Funeral Home Mineral Ridge Chapel for Larry Gene York Sr., 68 of Warren who passed away Tuesday evening in Trumbull Memorial Hospital E.R. Larry was born August 18, 1937 in Warren the son of Howard Sr. and Margaret (Matthews) York and was a life long area resident. He worked in the maintenance department of General Motors Lordstown Plant for 28 years retiring in 1993. He was a member of the UAW Local #1112 and enjoyed football, drag racing and the time spent with his wife, sons, and granddaughter. Larry leaves his wife of 44 years the former Alberta Metz whom he married November 1, 1962, two sons Larry Jr. and his wife Jeannette of The Kingdom of Bahrain, and Jim of Warren, one granddaughter Breanna Marie York “PaPaw’s girl” of Warren, one sister Sandra Lucas and three brothers Dennis, George, and Howard Jr., and one Aunt Dorothy “Dottie” Swanson all of Warren. Besides his parents, Larry is preceded in death by one brother William, and two sisters Betty Martin and Joann Heasley. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Monday at the funeral home.
