Lawrence A. Christopher Sr.

Funeral services will be 1 PM Thursday at Tabernacle Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 2432 S. Raccoon Rd, Austintown for Lawrence A. Christopher, Sr. who passed away Sunday morning at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Lawrence was born June 29, 1937 in Salem a son of the late Charles R. and Gladys (Reed) Christopher Evanovich. He was a United States Marine, owned and operated G & E Texaco Station in North Jackson for 10 years. He retired from GF Business Equipment in 1982. He was a member of Tabernacle Evangelical Presbyterian Church and the American Legion Post 737 in Lake Milton. Lawrence is survived by his wife the former Lois Weber Bortmas, whom he married November 29, 2002; four children: Lawrence A. (Debbie) Christopher Jr. of Redding, CA, Toni Judeh of Canfield, Shari (John) Love of Lake Milton, and Jon Paul Christopher of Brookfield; a daughter in law Mary Christopher of Ravenna; four step children: James D. (Patricia) Bortmas of Austintown, Michael E. (Mary) Bortmas of Manchester, MI, Cheryl (John) Maslach of Austintown, and Bonnie (William) Daichendt of Lake Zurich, IL; one sister Sara (Rich) Balint of Youngstown; one brother Paul Christopher of Akron; twenty three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Besides his parents, Lawrence is preceded in death by his first wife Carole Samsa, whom he married in 1959, and passed February 27, 1982 and a brother Charles Christopher. Friends may call from 6 PM until 8 PM Wednesday at Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel and from 12 PM until 1 PM Thursday at the church.
