Lawrence W. Boso

Lawrence W. "Larry" Boso of Brookfield, Ohio, died at 2:05 AM Wednesday (12-31-2008) in the Concord Care Center, Cortland, following an extended illness. He was 71. Mr. Boso was born in Wellsville, Ohio on March 9, 1937, a son of Donald H. and Virginia (Erwin) Boso. Larry retired from Nick Strimbu Trucking, Inc., Brookfield in 2001 after 18 years as a truck driver. He was a member of Covenant Life Fellowship Church, Hubbard, Ohio; and the Teamsters Local. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling with his family, astronomy, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was also a roller skating instructor and state dance competitor whom he partnered with his wife. Survivors include: his wife, Joyce A. (Rink) Boso, whom he married October 9, 1976; his children, Shawn Iwamasa & her husband Gary, Mesa, AZ, Erin McElrath, Niles, OH, Todd Boso, Orlando, FL, and Michael Vernon & his wife Lori, Mount Orab, OH; his siblings, Carol Smith, New Brighton, PA, Diane Brenniman, Plainsfield, ILL, Donald Boso, Wellsville, OH, Kenneth Boso, Orlando, FL, Philip Boso, Calcutta, OH, and Virginia Anderson, Wellsville, OH; his nine grandchildren; and his one great-granddaughter on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his step-son, Charles F. Vernon. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday (1-5-2009) at Covenant Life Fellowship Church, with Rev. John Vrabel, Sr., Pastor. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4-7 PM at the Lane Funeral Homes, Madasz Chapel, Brookfield, and Monday from 10-11 AM at the church. Burial will be private.
