Leland D. White

Leland "Lee" D. White Poland- Funeral services will be held at 11am on Tuesday Sept. 2, 2014 at Lane Family funeral Homes, Austintown for Leland "Lee" D. White, 82 who died early Friday morning at Hospice House in Poland. Mr. White was born Feb. 7, 1932 in Horton Kansas, the son of the late Elmer Lynn and Jesse (Welsh) White. Leland served in the U.S. Army stationed in Korea during 1953 and 1954. Following his discharge he earned his bachelor's degree from the Youngstown College and masters degree from Westmister College, He worked 16 years as a public school elementary teacher and principal and retired as a distributor from Little Debbie Snack Cake in 1955 as well as working for the Veterans Outreach. Most recently he served his community as Pastor of the Restored Church of Jesus Christ. He leaves behind his wife Lois Mae (Franklin) White, whom he married on June 13, 1952, his two children Darrell (Victoria) White of Illinois, and Susan (Gene) Stewart of Missouri, siblings Marvin (Aleda) White, Merlin (Shirley) White, Gail Phillips, Steven (Patricia) Clark and Dennis Clark. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Marjorie Anderson and Cynthia Clark.
