Leonard Ulrich, 84, of Bazetta, peacefully passed away Saturday March 23, 2013 at his home with his family. He was born in Mecca Nov. 21, 1928, the son of the late Ernest Wayne and Minnie Ellen Overmeir Ulrich. Leonard proudly served in the US Navy. He retired from Packard Electric in 1988 after working 40 years. He always kept busy and was a jack of all trades including building his own home where he always loved having his family around. He loved farming, fishing, boating and most of all going to his camp. Memories will be carried on and he will be sadly missed by his two daughters, Debbie (Jack) Ulrich Canavan of Cortland, Cheryl (Bryan) Wade of Champion; two sons, Leonard (Pam) Ulrich of Niles and Tim Ulrich of Bazetta; three grandchildren, Amber, Nicole and Travis; two great grandchildren, Nate and Michael. He was preceded in death by his wife Maxine Baker Ulrich, whom he married on July 17, 1952; four sisters, Beulah Fenstermaker, Mabel Maffitt, Leota Wear and Helen Shaffer; four brothers, Ernest, Harold, Elmer (Butch) and Wilbur. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Shafer-Winans Chapel 164 N. High St. Cortland, OH 44410, where the funeral service will also be held 11 AM Wednesday. Interment will follow in the Sager Memorial Cemetery in Bristol Township.
