A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Noon on Friday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Austintown for Liberta Jean "Bert" Batyske, 79, formerly of Austintown and Canfield who passed away Tuesday evening, under Hospice Care, at her daughters home surrounded by her family. Liberta, also known as Burt, was born February 2, 1936 in Youngstown the daughter of the late Dominic and Mary (Casanta) Vitucci. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Liberta was a graduate of Ursuline High School class of 1953 and retired from the Gorant Candies Company in 2009 as a supervisor for the Packing Plant. She was of the catholic faith and enjoyed cooking and baking, golfing, bowling, "gaming" and was an avid reader. Liberta had also belonged to bowling leagues at both Camelot and Wedgewood Lanes. Liberta leaves 4 children; Leonard (Patti) Batyske Jr. of Winter Garden, FL., Mary Ann (Lou) Burick of Stow, Karen (Troy) Melquist and Michael Batyske both of Las Vegas, NV., as well as 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and two great grandchildren expected in August. Besides her parents, Liberta was preceded in death by her husband Leonard E. Batyske Sr., whom she married April 27, 1957, he passed away March 28, 2003. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Dominic Vitucci. Family and friends may call from 10 am until Noon at the church. Arrangements were entrusted to the Lane Family Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel.
