Lillian Ruth Gelet

Lillian Ruth Gelet, 70 of Cortland passed away at 10:59am, Tuesday February 22, 2001 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. She was born in Berea on December 19, 1940, the daughter of the late Alfred and Dorothy (Randolph) Root. A lifetime area resident, Lillian was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. For all who knew Lillian she will be remembered as being a very generous and kind hearted person to people, children and animals. She enjoyed visiting with her family and friends, attending picnics and sitting around the campfire. She married her husband, Robert Eugene Gelet on December 29, 1961. He preceded her in death December 4, 1990. Together they shared 28 years of marriage. Also preceding her in death is a daughter, Kathleen Gelet, and her two brothers, Rolland and William Root. She is survived by her two daughters, Robin Gelet of Cortland, and Rebecca Gelet of Warren, siblings; Ruth (Andrew) Tablac of Warren and Robert (Shelly) Root of Lake Milton, many beloved brother in laws and sister in laws and numerous nieces and nephews. According to Lillian's wishes, no calling hours will be held and cremation will take place. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
