Llewellyn R. Wollam

Llewellyn R. 'Lou' Wollam, age 80, of Cortland died Friday at 1:58 AM at his home. He was born May 23, 1926 in Cortland the son of Llewellyn W. and Hattie (Welsh) Wollam. He was a lifetime Cortland resident and enjoyed spending winters for many years at the Quail Run Estates in Melbourne, FL.

Lou was a 1944 graduate of Cortland High School and attended GMI in Flint, MI. He was a co-owner of Petrak & Wollam Oil Company in Cortland and had owned Laun Dry Cleaning in Cortland. In 1963, he and his wife founded Lou Wollam Chevrolet and also owned Lou Wollam Lincoln-Mercury-Jeep in Hermitage, PA. He retired in 1991 from being active with his car dealership. Lou was past treasurer of the Ohio Auto Dealers Assoc. of Northeast Ohio, charter member of Living Lord Lutheran Church, member of Joy Lutheran Church in Palm Bay, FL and member of Cortland Masonic Lodge No. 529. He enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Grace L. (Petrak) Wollam whom he married August 11, 1946; two daughters, Glenda S. (Dana) Howard and Vickie R. (Vince) Prindle both of Cortland; six grandchildren, Tiffany (Nathan) Sayers, Brian Howard, Jessica Wollam, Kyle, Stephen and Michael Prindle; one sister, Zelma Parshall of Ravenna and one brother, Carl (Gail) Wollam of Cortland. One son, Wesley Arlan Wollam preceded in death March 13, 1980 and two brothers, Robert and Charles Wollam both preceded in death.

Arrangements are being handled by Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel in Cortland where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday and 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be at Living Lord Lutheran Church at 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 13, 2006 with the Rev. Timothy Mentzer officiating. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Cortland. In lieu of flowers, material contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund at Joy Lutheran Church, 3174 Jupiter Blvd. SE, Palm Bay, FL 32909.
