Lake Milton- Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday at the Lane Funeral Home-Austintown Chapel for Lloyd P. Tickerhoof, age 68 of Lake Milton who died early Tuesday morning in Trumbull Memorial Hospital emergency Room. Lloyd was born May 17, 1939 in Shafton, Pa. and was the son of the late Paul and Elsie (Humelsine) Tickerhoof. He resided in North Irwin, Pa. until 1971 when he moved to Ohio to work for General Motors. He retired in 2001 after 30 years working in the Material/Handling Dept. He served in the US Army from 1962-64 in Fort Gorden, GA as a radio operator. For the past 25 years, Lloyd was a dedicated baseball and softball umpire in the Warren and Youngstown area. Lloyd loved umpiring and was a member of Trumbull Interscholastic Umpire Assoc., Pony League, and Hot Stove Assoc. He umpired baseball games at the District, Regional and State level. He had also umpired the Pony Girls Nationals. His summer highlight was traveling to Dreams Park in Cooperstown, NY to umpire the American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame Tournament. Aside from umpiring, he also officiated volleyball and basketball for many years. He had also volunteered for the Red Cross in Warren for several years as a C.P.R. and First Aid instructor. He was a member of the Lakeview Assembly of God in Lake Milton and a 1957 graduate of North Irwin High School. Lloyd was an avid Steelers Fan and enjoyed reading and traveling, enjoyed showing his 1970 Cutlass at shows and parades and recently completed trips to all 50 states. He is survived by his wife Glenda of 36 years whom he married June 19, 1971 and three children, Steven (Brenda) Tickerhoof of Austintown, Daniel (Diana) Tickerhoof of Canal Fulton, and Christine (Reed) Whiteleather of Deerfield, 9 grandchildren, Tiffani, Alisha, Maria, Steven, Jr., Andrew, Stephanie, Caleb, Taylor and Jezerea. He also leaves six brothers, Albert (Judy) Tickerhoof of Orange Park, FL, Frank (Irene) Tickerhoof of Lampassas, TX, John (Susie) Tickerhoof of Vancouver, WA, George (Donna) Tickerhoof of Curwensville, PA,, David Tickerhoof of Greensburg, Pa., Ken (Vickie) Tickerhoof of North Huntington, Pa. and two sisters Marion (Dallas) Paden of St. Petersburg, FL and Jane Golofski of Slicksville, Pa. and an aunt Marie McKeever of St. Petersburg, FL. and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Rebecka in 2000. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 PM Friday and 1 hour prior to services on Sat. The family requests that material contributions be made to Make a Wish Foundation, 1422 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, OH.
