Lois Jane Holland

Austintown- Lois Jane Holland, 57, of 3293 Meanderwood Dr., died at 2:52 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14, 2006 in Forum Health Northside Medical Center, where she had been a patient for twelve days. Born November 26, 1948 in Youngstown, Ohio. Mrs. Holland was the daughter of Robert and Pauline Miller of Youngstown. She graduated from Fitch High School in 1967, after which she married John C. Holland of Austintown, to whom she remained married for 38 years. Mrs. Holland worked as a computer teacher at St. Joseph's School in Austintown for 17 years, retiring in 2003. She was a member and Eucharistic Minister of the St. Joseph's Parish where she was involved in the spiritual Renewal program as well as an integral part of the Celebrate program for high school juniors and seniors. Mrs. Holland enjoyed helping others and being involved in the community. From 1994-2000 she served as local and state judge for the Ohio High School Speech & Debate League. She accepted a coaching position in Oratorical Interpretation from 2000-2004 at Cardinal Mooney High School while also serving as a Judge Coordinator and Auction Volunteer. Her hobbies included cooking, reading, and traveling with her husband. Besides her husband, John C. Holland, Mrs. Holland is survived by her one son, Ryan Holland of Columbus, one daughter, Laura L. Kopp and husband Steve of Davenport, Iowa; two grandchildren, Alex age 5 and Julia age 4 of Davenport, Iowa. Her mother, Mrs. Pauline Mille Tyhosky of Youngstown and Elizabeth (Betty) Senich of Hubbard, a close cousin David Tyhosky of Columbus and a nephew and nieces, Michael, Melanie and Kayde Miller all of Youngstown. She embraced and influenced the lives of so many people who were all considered her best friends. For this, she will always be remembered. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2006 at 6:30 pm at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Arrangements are being handled by Lane Funeral Home-Austintown Chapel.
