Lois Ruth Keith

May 8, 1927 — May 2, 2012

Lois R. Keith, age 84, of Cortland, died in the comfort of her home on Wednesday, May 2, 2012. She was born on May 2, 1927 in Warren, a daughter of the late Algie Dakin and the late Sue Parry Dakin. After retiring as office manager at Warren Radiology, Lois enjoyed devoting her time to her passion of sewing. She enjoyed doing alterations and making wedding gowns, but still had time to create her own beautiful wardrobe. Lois served on the Cortland Parks Board and loved watching children use the facilities at Willow Park near her home. Her husband of thirty years, Jack Keith, preceded her in death on November 23, 2007. Lois is survived by her son, Bruce Seiple, daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Stan Raphoon all with whom she lived and a granddaughter, Megan Raphoon of Detroit, MI. Also surviving are her sisters, Marion Gettig of CA, Nancy Hart of Chardon and Sue Shingler of Newton Falls. She was also loved by many nieces, nephews and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Luscombe, step daughter, Pam Galonski and a grandson, Michael Raphoon. Her family would like to thank the ER and third floor staff at St. Joseph's Hospital and the nursing staff of Grace Hospice for their tender care. There will be no calling hours and a private family funeral will take place at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel in Cortland.
