Lorenz L. Schill

Austintown- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM Monday in St. Mary’s in Mineral Ridge for Lorenz Schill, age 79 of Austintown who died Thursday afternoon in St. Elizabeth Hospital. Lorenz was born Oct. 22, 1926 in Vukovar, Croatia and came to the United States in 1956. He was the son of the late Joseph and JoAnn Schill. Lorenz retired in 1989 from General Motors where he had been a stock chaser and had also been a self-employed painting contractor. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church and a proud member of Local #1112 and its retiree’s chapter. He had been an avid soccer player in his early years, competing in the European Minor Soccer League for Native Croatia. Lorenz leaves his wife of 58 years, Pauline Budur whom he married Oct. 11, 1947 in Hanover, Germany. He also leaves a daughter Lidia (Stan) Yancar of Port Charlotte, FL, two sons Mike (Lonnie) Schill of Berlin Center, Frank (Dorothy) Schill of Canfield, two sisters Rosie of Croatia, Helena of Germany and five grandchildren; Monica (Frank) Czopor, Sara, Tyler, Ashley and Alex Schill. He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters and his parents. Friends may call at the Lane Funeral Home-Austintown Chapel from 4-7 PM Sunday.
