Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Monday at Four Mile Run Christian Church for Loretta Mae Houk, 89 of Canfield who passed away Thursday morning at Forum Health Northside Medical Center. Loretta was born July 30, 1917 in Akron, OH the daughter of Arnold M. and Maude Stevenson Franklin. She was a homemaker and a member of the Four Mile Run Christian Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher, a past assistant organist and a past choir director, and the longest member of the church. Loretta enjoyed studying genealogy and was a member of the first families of Ohio. Her first husband, Frank C. McDonald whom she married 1938, passed away in 1944. Luther A. Houk whom she married August 9, 1952, passed away in 1992. She leaves a daughter, Barbara Donaldson with whom she made her home; four grandchildren, Ken (Fran) Donaldson of Youngstown, Sherrie (John) Jacobs of Boardman, Jacque (Fred) Goodwin of Annapolis, MD, and Bryan McDonald of Lahmansville, W.VA; five great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Besides her husbands and parents, Loretta was preceded in death by a son Roland McDonald, and a sister Virginia Jones Friends and family may call from 3 to 6 PM Sunday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel and again from 9:30 to 10:30 AM Monday at the church. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests material tributes take the form of donations to the Church Memorial Fund.
