Louis "Bob" Danch

Newton Falls (formerly of Petersburg and Berlin Center)-- Services will be held at 10:00A.M. Monday at Lane Family funeral Homes, Austintown for Louis "Bob" R. Danch, 61, who died Wednesday evening at his residence, surrounded by his family, friends and dogs, after a courageous battle with melanoma. Mr. Danch was born June 7, 1952 in Youngstown, the son of Margaret (Best) Danch and the late Louis Danch. Bob graduated from East Palestine Highschool in 1970. He then went on to the General Motors Engineering and Management Institute where he graduated in 1975, receiving a bachelors degree in Industrial Administration. He worked for General Motors as a material manager for 43 years. Bob was a very active member of his community. He was a life member of Western Reserve Motorcycle Club, and a member of the HOG Club of Warren. He was involved with the Boy Scouts of America, Habitat for Humanity in Austintown, Ruritan in Berlin Center and Ellsworth, and was a FIJI fraternity member at GMI. Bob was also a part of the UAW Care and Share. Bob volunteered at St. Judes and was one of the longest running volunteers at the K-105 Radiothon.He also spent time volunteering for Junior Achievement and March of Dimes. Bob was very knowlegable especially with history, he enjoyed working in his shop and taking on many new projects, and was able to fix just about anything. He also had an interest in carpentry and farming. He was an outdoorsman, loved playing football, bicycling and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He leaves behind his mother Maragaret (Best) Danch, his loving wife Denise (Burnett) Danch whom he married on Jan. 5, 1998, his children Rob (Kim) Danch of Berlin Center, Dan Danch of Austintown, Melissa Testa of Warren and Matt Testa of Chicago, his in laws Eugene and Alois Burnett, his brother and sister in laws Tina and John Pavlak,, Keith (Kim) Burnett and Tim Burnett, his niece Courtney Pavlak, his beloved dogs Josie, Roscoe, Rusty, Bentley and Bella as well as nieces, nephews and friends., He was preceded in death by his father Louis Danch and dogs Harley and Max. Friends may call Sunday from 3-8pm and Monday from 9 until the time of services at 10am at Lane Family Funeral homes, Austintown. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Boardman, Ohio 44512, or Animal Welfare League Shelter, 545 Brunstetter Rd.
