Luetta June Hanawalt

Luetta June (Mushrush) Hanawalt.80, of 16 Woodland Chase, Niles, and more recently, Renaissance North Healthcare Center, 2473 North Road NE entered into eternal rest at 4:45pm Thursday July 8, 2010 at Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital. She was born July 29, 1929 in Sigel, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Raymond and Ruth (Jackson) Mushrush. She was a graduate of Sigel High School. She came to Warren in 1947, and worked a couple of jobs before finding her job as a desk Desk Girl at Packard Electric Division of General Motors Corporation, where she worked until she retired in 1992. During one of her jobs, before she went to Packard, she met her husband Gene M. Hanawalt. They married June 23, 1951; together they shared 53 years of marriage. She was a member of BPO Elks 295, SCOPE, SCOPE Dance Club, Carousel Dinner Club, and YWCA. She enjoyed walking the mall, swimming, ballroom dancing, and flower gardening. She is survived by her son, Rev. K. Martin Hanawalt of Warren; a sister Lois A. Solinger of Cortland; a grandson Philip Andrew (Angela) Hanawalt of Jacksonville, Florida, a granddaughter Ruth Naomi Hanawalt of Indianapolis, Indiana; two great grandchildren; Aaron Michael Hanawalt and Timothy Lee Hanawalt both of Jacksonville, Florida and many in laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gene, a good friend, Samuel DeMartino and one brother Donald Mushrush. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the Bolindale Christian Church, 2749 Fairview Ave SE, Warren, Ohio on Saturday July 17, 2010 at 11am. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Her son, Rev. K. Martin Hanawalt will officiate at the memorial service. The family has requested that monetary contributions be made to the Bolindale Christian Church, Good Samaritan Fund. Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel handled the arrangements.
