Funeral services will be held at 1pm Monday in the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Lyle D. Wollet, 85, who died Tuesday morning at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. He was born February 2, 1923 in North Lima, a son of Christ J. and Evelyn (Organ) Wollet and he resided in this area all of his life. He worked as a carpenter for Youngstown Sheet and Tube for 34 years until his retirement in 1980. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WW II. He was a former member of John Knox Presbyterian Church, and he loved gardening and bowling. He is survived by his wife, the former Helen Barger, whom he married August 2, 1946; two daughters; Carol (Ken) Boyles of Austintown and Lynn (Joseph) D'Andrea of Youngstown; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son Russell, a brother Walter, and two sisters; Eileen Crawford, and June Campbell. Friends may call from 2-4pm Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Lane Funeral Home in Lyle's memory.
