Martha A Howard

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, July 6th at St. Maron Church for Martha A. Howard, 87, of Liberty, who passed away Thursday morning July 2, 2015. She was born December 27, 1927 in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of the late Sab and Lulu (Thomas) Fares. She was a 1947 graduate of the Wilson High School. Martha married John Simon in 1952. John passed away in 1979. Martha was employed for 17 years at the Trumbull County Board of Elections. She was a professional seamstress, a member of St. Maron's and the St. Tobias Society, was a member of Liberty Football and Baseball Boosters, she was involved with the Girard Senior Citizens, and the Liberty Historical Society. Martha is survived by her husband, Harry C. Howard; her five children, Mary Agnes (Clark) Bowman, Jack (Barb) Simon, Louann (Jim) Andres, Jerry (Paula) Simon, and Dianne Simon; her brother, Maron Fares; her eleven grandchildren; and her six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and first husband, Martha was preceded in death by her five sisters, Mae Fares, Agnes Sovak, Mary Eckel, Rose Marie Barkett, and Delia Hannah; and three brothers, Bud J. Fares, James J. Fares, and Thomas Fares. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Sunday, July 5th at the Lane Family Funeral Home Austintown Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 6th at 10:00 am at St. Maron Church, 1555 South Meridan Road, Youngstown, Ohio, where Martha will lay in state from 9:00 to 9:45 am prior to the mass. Burial to follow at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens.
