Madeline W. Wiles, 90 of Howland died Tuesday morning, August 27, 2013, at Shepherd of the Valley in Howland. She was born June 22, 1923 in Morgantown, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Ocle Cyrenus and Goldie Almena Wade Haines. Madeline was a graduate of Morgantown High School. She worked 10 years at Carlisle's Department Store in Niles in the toy department. She was an active member of the Bolindale Christian Church, where she served as a deacon. Madeline enjoyed crocheting, sewing and cooking. She is survived by three daughters, Nancy Jo (Ronald) Beardsley of Palm Harbor, Fla., Charlotte Larabee of Warren and Cindy (Lorenzo) Thomas of Howland; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter and two sisters, Dorothy (Keith) McGinnis of Cortland and Goldie Sulka of Mt. Morris, Pa. Her husband, Charles F. Wiles, whom she married April 6, 1941, preceded her in death in 2000. One brother, John Harris and two sisters, Mildred "Peggy" Vance and Doris Wheeler have also preceded in death. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren, where the family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Pastor Ray Blasko will officiate. Burial will be at Howland Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bolindale Christian Church, 2749 Fairview Ave. SE, Warren 44484.
