Mamie L. Butterworth

Mamie L. Butterworth, age 76, of New Waterford, OH passed on peacefully with her family at her bedside on Friday, March 11, 2011. She was born June 25, 1934 in Nashville, TN a daughter of the late Sam and Frankie (Gibson) Langley. Mamie is survived by her three children Jim (Wendy) Butterworth of New Waterford, OH, Vickie (Brian) Dow of Alliance, OH, Melanie (Matthew) Martin of South Bend, IN; her sister Linda Golden of Boardman, OH; four grandchildren (Laura, Fallon, Brittany, and Justin) and one great-grandchild (Blake). Mamie worked in the book department of the Handleman Book Company in Boardman, OH for many years. She was also the counter girl at Crest Cleaners (next to Tesone's) in Boardman, OH. Mamie was loved by all who knew her and especially by her family. She was an avid reader, a doting mother, and a wonderful cook. She enjoyed sports, politics, and current events. She also enjoyed nature, especially the hummingbirds that would frequent her feeder. Thank you to all of the Dr's, nurses, and support staff who provided her comfort and care at St. Elizabeth's Boardman and Belmont campuses. We are forever grateful. The twinkle in her eyes and her beautiful smile were surely a glimpse of heaven on earth. The world will not be the same without her presence. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Buddy and her sister Ann. The family asks that gifts be made in the form of donations to Hospice of the Valley. Arrangements were handled by the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel.
