Marcella S Futey

Marcella Shirley Futey, 89, of Warren passed away Saturday morning, April 11, 2009 at the Cortland Healthcare Center of natural causes. Born June 16, 1919 in Brockway, PA she was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Poida) Peresie. Marcella attended the Yatesboro schools in PA and was extremely bright, energetic, and motivated. She lived through the depression with her family and traveled from PA to NY, NY to become a nanny. She moved to the Warren area from the Bronx, NY in 1943. Marcella retired in 1987 from Ohio Lamp where she worked as a quality control inspector for many years. A member of the St. James Catholic Church, she enjoyed working crossword puzzles, shopping, dining out, and spending time with her family. Marcella was generous with her money and her possessions, loved clothes. and was always well dressed. In her younger years she enjoyed attending the Kenley Players at the Packard Music Hall. She was preceded in death in 1991 by her husband Joseph Futey whom she married May 8, 1947. Marcella is survived by a daughter Jeanne (Albert) Ipsa of Lebanon, OH, two sons, Robert Futey of Cortland, and David (Susan) Futey of Colorado Springs, CO, seven grandchildren, Matt and Aaron Ipsa, Lainie Hopkins, Jason and Nathan Futey, and Mary Katherine and Evan Futey, three great grandchildren, Malia, Helena, and Ezra, a brother Joseph Peresie of Carlisle, PA and by a sister Marie Furka of Butler, PA. She was preceded in death by two brothers Edward and Henry Peresie. Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 5 to 7PM at the Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel. The Rev. James Walker will conduct a funeral service Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at 10AM at the funeral home where friends may also visit for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held in the All Souls Cemetery.
