Margaret G. Christy

Margaret G. Christy 101, of Brookfield, OH passed away Wednesday afternoon July 10, 2013 at her home. She was born in Sydney, NY on March 12, 1912 the daughter of Robert N. and Margaret A. (Clark) Christy. She had attended Brookfield Schools and would go on to marry John M. Christy on August 18, 1933. She was a former secretary in the Brookfield Local School System, but spent the majority of her life being a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Mrs. Christy was a longtime member of the Brookfield Christian Church where she had been the church organist and attended Sunday school. She was a lifetime resident of this community and a descendent of four pioneer families that had settled in Brookfield in the mid 1700's. During her spare time, she enjoyed writing letters and sending cards to family and friends. Mrs. Christy is survived by her daughters Barbra Robbins of Masury, and Cheryl Christy of Brookfield; her daughter-in-law Shirley Van Slyke of Masury; her grandsons Gary Reiser and his wife Kathy, and Brian Reiser and his wife Tracy; four great-grandchildren Christy Ann Brown and her husband Emanuel, Monica Lou Jordan and her husband Anthony, Michael Gary Reiser, and Meghan Elizabeth Reiser; and two great-great-grandchildren Riley and Grant.. She was preceded in death by her husband John, son Donald Duane Christy, grandson Dan Reiser, brothers Ward and John Christy, sisters Olive Beal and Kathryn Smith, and her son-in-law Jerry Robbins. Friends may visit from 5:00-7:00PM Sunday evening July 14, 2013 at the Madasz Chapel of Lane Family Funeral Homes in Brookfield, OH. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM Monday at the funeral home with the Pastor Dan Hockenberry of the Brookfield Christian Church officiating.
