Margaret Jean Sondheimer

Services will be 12:30 PM Tuesday at the Lane Funeral Home Mineral Ridge Chapel for Margaret Jean Sondheimer, 80, of Girard who passed away Friday evening in Liberty Health Care Center. Jean was born June 10, 1927 in New Castle PA, the daughter of Elgin and Orpha (Earhart) Mc Connell. She attended the Churchill United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Moose Club in Niles. Jean loved cooking and was a collector of angels, whales and penguins. Her husband the former Kenneth Sondheimer whom she married February 5, 1957 passed away January 8, 1997. Jean leaves three children: William Moore of Niles, Joette Sondheimer and Vivian (Larry) Seifert both of Liberty, four sisters: Dorothy Bukowski of New Castle, Carole Calvert of Cuyahoga Falls, Mary Lou Harris of Warren and Beverly McCrae of Everett, WA. Jean also leaves five grandchildren: Christina, Heather, Joe Michael, and Brian, as well as two great grandchildren: Alexis and Ashton. Besides her husband, Jean is preceded in death by one sister: Emily McConnell, two brothers: Norman and Charles McConnell, and one grandson Kenny Moore. Family and friends may call from 11 AM until 12:30 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that material tributes take the form of donations to the Churchill United Methodist Church Children’s Ministry Program in Jean’s name.
