Margaret L Danch

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, October 8th at Ellsworth Presbyterian Church for Margaret L. Danch, 90 of Zanesville, formerly of Berlin Center who died early Monday morning at Willow Haven Nursing Home. Margaret was born January 3, 1925 in Petersburg, Ohio, a daughter of the late Garfield and Edith Dugan Best. She graduated from Springfield High School and Youngstown Hospital School of Nursing. Margaret was a registered nurse for the Youngstown Hospital Association for 40 years, retiring in 1984. Margaret had been a member of the Ellsworth Presbyterian and the Petersburg Presbyterian Churches . She was a former member of the Canfield AARP and the Ohio Nurses Association and loved volunteering and reading. Margaret had volunteered for Hospice of the Valley , the St. Bonaventure Indian Mission Thoreau, New Mexico and a volunteer advocate for Victims of Crime with the Mahoning County Court. Her husband, Louis J. Danch, whom she married September 14, 1946, died December of 1979. She leaves her daughter Sylvia L. Burkey and her husband Eugene of Adamsville;three grandchildren, Michael (Jennifer) Burkey, David((Kari) Burkey, , Daniel Danch;four great-grandchildren, Cody Burkey, Ty Burkey, Braylie Burkey. Bronc Burkey two brothers, Robert Best of Cleveland, Charles Best of Youngstown; and one sister, Judith Pitzo of New Middletown Besides her parents and her husband, Margaret was preceded in death by her son, Louis "Bob" Danch; four brothers, William Best, Russell Best, Richard Best , James Best and one sister, Vera Richey and one grandson, Robert Danch. Friends may call for one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. Arrangements are being handled by Lane Family Funeral Homes, Canfield Chapel.
