Margaret L Wessell

Margaret L. (Peg) Wessell, 85, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2009. She was born October 21, 1924, in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of the late Alfred and Gladys R. (Smith) Buckles. Peg is survived by her husband of 64 years, Bob Wessell, whom she married June 16, 1945. She is also survived by five children: Steve (Mary) Wessell of Denver, CO; Rick (Karen) Wessell of Troutman, NC; Laura (Mark) Bunnell of Painesville, OH; Carrie (Jim) Kutney of Lawrenceville, GA; and Sally (Mike) Athmer of Kettering, OH; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren as well as extended family. Peg was a faithful member of Wickliffe Presbyterian Church for over 50 years, and of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for 65 years. She was retired from Wean Industries. Peg was a gracious hostess to family and friends, an accomplished seamstress and knitter, and a blue-ribbon winner in baking at the Canfield Fair. She enjoyed traveling, especially trips to the ocean. Her optimism, gentle nature, and welcoming smile will always be remembered. Her brothers Charles, Robert, and Russell Buckles preceded her in death. A funeral service led by Pastor Elmarie Parker will be held at noon Wednesday, December 30, at Wickliffe Presbyterian Church, 45 Idlewood Road, Austintown, OH 44515. The family will receive friends at the church at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Lake Park Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Wickliffe Presbyterian Church.
