Margaret N. Brainard, age 89 of Mecca, Ohio, died on August 4, 2014 at 8:28 PM at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren. She was born on October 28, 1924 in Lowellville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Fred and Hattie Heasley Nock. She was a Hubbard High School Graduate and worked and retired as a press operator for 25 years plus at Packard Electric in Warren. Margaret enjoyed playing bingo and she loved to play the slot machines. Survivors include her daughter, Harriet Smith of Cortland; nine grandchildren, William (Gail) Hettrick, Vicky (Jeremy) Faust, Rich (Melanie) Bresenhan, Steven Wilson, John (Michelle) Granny, and Robert (Monica) Granny, Jennifer (Michael) Scharba, John Smith, Jr., and Joseph Smith; and 15 great-grandchildren. Her brother, Charles Nock of Hubbard, and her sister Nancy Monteleone of Fort Pierce, FL also survive. Other than her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her second husband, Howard F. Brainard, and by her first husband, Stephen Molody; her daughter, Stephanie Wilson in 1988; her step-daughter, Julianna Anastasiadis; son-in-law, John Smith, Sr.; and her siblings, Dorothy Wiscott, Betty Sarver, and John Nock. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, August 9, 2014 at the Lane Family Funeral Home, Shafer-Winans Chapel in Cortland. Family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service.
