Margaret Queeenie Marsh

Margaret E. "Queenie" Marsh, age 93, of Cortland, passed away peacefully with her loving husband John by her side on Sunday, December 21, 2008, at Gillette Nursing Home in Warren. She was born on April 11, 1915 in Aliquippa, PA., the daughter of the late Richard W. Darbey and the late Margaret (Coulter) Darbey. A lifetime area resident, Mrs. Marsh was a homemaker and a member of the Cortland United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing Bingo, cooking, traveling and gardening. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 72 years, John A. Marsh, whom she married on March 23, 1936; one daughter, Ann Anne of Niles, one son, Michael W. (Rene) Marsh of Cortland and a daughter in-law, Linda Marsh of Lexington, OH. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Margaret was preceded in death by one son, Rev. J. Terry Marsh, three brothers, Richard, Forest and David Darbey and by one sister, Mary Jane Darbey. Arrangements are being handled by Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel where the family will receive friends from 10am - 11am on Friday, December 26, 2008. Funeral services will be at 11am on Friday.
