Margie E. Allen

Niles- Funeral services will be held 12 PM Monday at New Hope United Methodist Church in Niles for Margie E. Allen, age 90 who died Thursday evening at her home. Margie was born March 14, 1921 in Girard and was the daughter of the late Leo and Elsie (Walters) Amy. She had been a life long resident of Niles and was a charter member of Fairview United Methodist Church which is now New Hope United Methodist Church. Margie enjoyed camping, traveling and working in her flower garden. She was an avid swimmer, having taught swimming classes at the Y.W.C.A. in Niles. Margie's husband, Ernest Allen whom she married Jan 21, 1941 died Dec. 27, 1999. She is survived by five children, Margie (Gary) Marks of Oldsmar, Fl., Gary (Norma) Allen of Palm Coast, FL., Joyce (Carl) Severin of Niles, Ernie (Marlene) Allen of Girard and Robert (Dorothy) Allen of Niles. She also leaves a sister Jerri Williams of Leesburg, Fl. , 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter Ida Mae Allen, two brothers Tom and Leo Amy, a sister Edna Hayes and a granddaughter Amanda Allen. Friends may call at the Lane Funeral Home-Niles Chapel from 7-9 PM Sunday and from 10-12 Monday at the church prior to the services.
