Marguerite Mae (Miller) Slanco, age 88, formerly of Warren, passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Monday, May 18, 2009 at Laurel Manor Care Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She entered this world on May 17, 1921 in Warren the daughter of the late Harold Miller and the late Mabel Melissa (Ebert) Thomas. Marguerite grew up and lived most of her life in Warren, was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and was a member of Tod Avenue United Methodist Church. She worked as a dental assistant, bookkeeper and retired from Packard Electric Corp. She enjoyed dancing and cooking. Marguerite touched the lives of many with her quick smile and warm heart. She loved all God's creation and had a special place in her heart for animals. Her last 5 1/2 years were lived in Colorado Springs, close to her son and daughter-in-law. Her Colorado family loved her very much and is grateful to have had the time with her. Marguerite is survived by her daughter, Deanna (Ronald) Davis of Champion; one son, Michael (Beth) Slanco of Colorado Springs; one sister, Judi (Bob) Antonell of Warren Township; a sister-in-law, Carol Miller of Champion; three granddaughters and their spouses; six great grandchildren and her faithful animal companion, Bombay. Besides her parents, Marguerite was preceded in death by one brother, Eugene R. "Gene" Miller and her stepfather, Harry Thomas. The family will receive friends from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm Saturday, May 23, 2009 at the Tod Avenue United Methodist Church, where the funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm with Pastor Anita Rayburn officiating. Burial will be at North Jackson Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trumbull County Animal Welfare League, 545 Brunstetter Road, Warren, OH 44481.
