Marian “Molly” Phyetta Johnson, 92, died at the home of her daughter & son-in-law on Wednesday, August 16th, 2006, of congestive heart failure. She was the daughter of the late James & Anna (Sowers) Gill and the wife of Elmer Gustav Johnson who died in 1983. They were married in 1933. Marian was born in Struthers, Ohio and raised in Sharon, Pennsylvania and Brookfield, Ohio. For the past 7 years she lived at the Cape Cod Apartments in Falmouth, Massachusetts. She worked for many years as a department manager at Valley View Department Store in Brookfield and was active in the Brookfield United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School. For several of her earlier years, she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and enjoyed working the local election board. She most enjoyed bowling, square dancing, and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include a sister, Virginia Scott of Burghill, Ohio; a son, Elmer Johnson of Conneaut, Ohio and Fort Myers, Florida; a daughter, Rita Dussault of Falmouth, Massachusetts; 2 grandsons, Brett Maxwell of Richmond, Vermont, and Gregory Maxwell of East Greenwich, Rhode Island; 4 great-grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She had 3 brothers and a sister who predeceased her. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM on Friday, August 25th at the Madasz Funeral Chapel in Brookfield, Ohio. Funeral Services will be Saturday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with burial following in the Brookfield Township Cemetery.
