Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday at the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel for Marian V. Oakley of Salem and formerly Canfield who passed away on Sunday morning at Essex II Nursing Home in Salem after a long illness. Marian was born November 3, 1916 in McMechen West Virginia the daughter of Paul E. and Mayme (DeBow) West. She was a manager and clerk at Nichol’s Five and Dime store in Canfield from 1953 to 1970 and worked at Brown’s Drugs from 1970 to 1985. She attended Real Life Assembly of God in Salem; was a member of the Grandma’s Club, Dorcas Missionary Society and was the Secretary/Treasurer and a Sunday School Teacher at Faith Chapel Open Bible Church. She leaves three children: Ted Olesky of Campbell, Darleen Moore of Canfield, and Deborah Pierce of Salem. Marian also leaves seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Oakley whom she married March 3, 1937 and passed away in 1975. Two brothers: Clifford and Carl West as well as a sister Georgia Stouffer also preceded her in death. Memorial contributions may be sent to either Hospice of the Valley at 5190 Market St, Boardman, OH 44512 or to the Salem Bible Church at 807 Cunningham Rd, Salem, OH 44460. Friends and family may call from 9:00 to 10:00 AM, one hour prior to the services on Thursday.
