Marie Simpson Bond Lordstown-- Friends may call Sat. April 5, 2014 from 5-8 pm at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown and Monday April 7, 2014 from 1:00 until the time of services at 2:00pm at Bond Funeral Home in Londonderry OH for Marie Simpson Bond, 97 who died Wednesday April 2, 2014 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Bond was born Oct. 17, 1916 at her parents farm in Flushing, OH., the daughter of the late Charles and Bessie Simpson. Marie moved to this area in 1954 from Guernsey County and then resided the last 38 years in Lordstown. She was a retired elementary school teacher, teaching for 42 years. She taught in several schools in Ohio. She began teaching in a two room school in Guernsey County with a pot belly stove to teaching the last 26 years at Lloyd elementary School in Austintown, OH She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Niles, the Trumbull County Farm Bureau, Lordstown Garden Guild and the Austintown Retired School Teacher Association. She enjoyed gardening, county fairs, attending her grandchildrens many activities and reading. She leaves her two sons Robert S. (Dorothy) Bond of Lordstown, and Bryce F. (Mary) Bond of North Jackson, and her grandchildren Clayton and Laura Bond of Lordstown and Hanna Bond of North Jackson. She was preceeded in death by her parents and husband Clyde H. Bond whom she married under a weeping willow tree at her parents farm, her son Keith N. Bond, brother Harold Simpson and sisters Virginia Montgomery and Veda Randsbottom.
