Austintown- Funeral services will be held at 11 am Tuesday at Faith Community Church 1919 E. Midlothian Blvd. Youngstown for Marilyn Opperman who died peacefully Friday evening at her residence surrounded by her family and friends after a brief illness. Marilyn was born April 7, 1929 in Youngstown and was a life long area resident. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1948 and from Youngstown State University with a Business Degree. She was a long time employee for Dr. Charles DeMario and Progressive Woman’s Care working until the time of her illness as a medical assistant. She was a member and deaconess of Faith Community Church, Marilyn was active loving to golf and bowl. Marilyn is survived by her son Kenneth and Kathy Opperman and her grandchildren Kendra and Andrew all of Brookfield and her sister Evelyn Anthonsen of Boardman. She was preceded in death by her sons; David and Timothy and brothers Edward and William Anthonsen. Her family would like to thank her companion Cecil Greenaway, Dr. Charles and Beverly DeMario, JoAnn Muransky and Mary Husk for all their help and support during her illness. Family and friends may call from 5-8 pm Monday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel and from 10-11 am Tuesday at the church. The family requests that memorial tributes take the form of donations to the church to help the homeless.
