Marilyn Louise Gay

Marilyn Louise Gay (nee Beagle), 65, of West Palm Beach, Florida (formerly of Leavittsburg, Ohio) died peacefully at 12:28 am on September 15, 2014, at Hospice of Palm Beach County following a short illness. She was born July 22, 1949, in Warren, Ohio and was the daughter of George and Armina Beagle. Marilyn graduated from LaBrae High School in 1967 and from Kent State University with a degree in Education. She later received her Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from Ashland University. She was married to Blaine Michael Gay for 36 years until his death in 2009. She is survived by her daughters, Susan Gay Hyatt and Sarah Gay, and one grandson, Sawyer Hyatt, all of West Palm Beach, where Marilyn had resided since 2010. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and a wide circle of friends. Marilyn was an elementary school teacher with the LaBrae Local School District for 28 years until she retired in 2010. She was named a Jennings Scholar by the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation for her work as an outstanding classroom educator. Marilyn loved to paint, read, and travel with her family. She was a volunteer baby cuddler in the neonatal unit at Boca Raton Regional Hospital and was part of the volunteer program at JFK Medical Center in Lantana, Florida. Her parents and one brother, Gerald E. Beagle, preceded her in death. Calling hours will be held at Lane Family Funeral Homes Roberts-Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Dr. NE, Warren, OH 44483 on Friday, September 26, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Pine Knoll Cemetery.
