Canfield- Funeral services will be held at 10 am Saturday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Marjorie Grope who died Monday afternoon at the Hospice House. Marjorie was born March 16, 1924 in Youngstown the daughter of Charles and Bessie (Lightbody) Weyrick and was a lifelong area resident. Marjorie was a 65 year member of Wedgewood Park Evangelical Church where she had taught children’s Sunday school for many years. During World War II she had worked for Ohio Bell and was a graduate of South High School. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 67 years, Rev. James R. Grope Sr. whom she married May 9, 1943, children; Judy (Walter) Deiley of Canfield, Janet (Terry) Boros of Cape Coral, FL., James (Patricia) Grope Jr. of Canfield, 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her great grandson Markie Dorsey and brother Stanley Weyrick. Marjorie’s sweet disposition and loving actions are a tribute to her love of God. She took great pride in being a wife and mother and she gave 100% of herself to her adoring family. She was loved by many and will be missed by all. Family and friends may call from 4-7 pm Friday evening at the funeral home. The family asks that donations be made to Hospice in Marjorie’s name.
