MARJORIE G. HOOVER, 92 CANFIELD--- Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 13th at Lane Family Funeral Homes, 65 N. Broad Street, Canfield Chapel for Marjorie G. Hoover, 92, who died Sunday, May 4th, at Bel Air Care Center in Alliance. Marjorie was born April 8, 1922 in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of Sylvan R. and Virgie (Short) Post. Marjorie lived in Canfield almost all of her life. She was a 1940 graduate of Canfield High School. She was a member of Canfield United Methodist Church from the age of fourteen, where she sang in the choir for almost forty years and was a member of various church committees and a trustee. She was a member of the Amaranth Faith Court #43 of Salem and a member of the Salem Golf Club. In her early years, Marjorie worked in the Engineering Departments at Electric Furnace Company in Salem and U.S. Steel in Youngstown. She loved the home in the woods she lived in for almost fifty years between Canfield and Salem, and travelled to Bass Lake, Michigan every summer with her late husband Harry L. A. ("Bud") Hoover, who died on June 14, 1990. She had previously been married to Avery J. Williams, who died in 1963. She is survived by her sister Shirley (Post) Moore (Canfield); her sons Timothy Avery Williams (Issaquah, Washington) and Michael John Williams (Alliance); her grand-children Jennifer L. Williams (Atlanta, Georgia), Emily M. Williams (Atlanta, Georgia), Michael A. Williams (Columbus), Holly A. Williams (Alliance), and a great-granddaughter and a great-grandson (Atlanta, Georgia). Besides her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her first-born son Thomas, who died as an infant, and her brothers Dencil B. Post, Hubert Vere Post, S. Randall Post, Claid A. Post, and her sister Freda Post. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Marjorie's name to the Canfield United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
