AUSTINTOWN- Marlene J. Pellin Weyer Kashubara The good Lord called an angel home to sing in the heavenly choir on Monday July 14, with the passing of Marlene J. Pellin Weyer Kashubara, who passed away in the comfort of her home with her son by her side. Marlene passed away after a long illness. Marlene was born on May 8, 1934 in Youngstown to the late Earnest R. Pellin and Irma (Balla) Pellin. Marlene was a 1952 graduate of South High School. After graduation, she went on to work for the Youngstown Hospital Association, first, at Southside Hospital in the billing department and then at the Northside campus as an E.K.G. technician. She later worked in the billing department for Associates in Radiology, and completed her career as a secretary for Teamsters Local 377. Marlene loved music. After high school, she joined the Sweet Adalines and was later a member of the Organ Society. She was most proud of becoming a member of the Notables Choir, helping raise the spirits of local nursing homes. She also loved the Gaither Homecomings and especially the friendship she found in Mark Lowery through his music and humor. Marlene will be remembered with much love by those who knew her through music. On April 9, 1983 Marlene married the love of her life, Pete Kashubara, with whom she enjoyed 18 years of wedded bliss until his passing in June 2001. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ernest F. Pellin. Marlene will be greatly missed by her loving son, Donald Weyer, with whom she made her home, along with her cats, Sassy, Junior, Bo, and Dusty. A funeral service will be held at Lane Family Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel on Friday, July 18 at 12PM. Family and friends will be received 2 hours prior at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Belmont Park Cemetery.
