Marlene J. Williams

A memorial service celebrating the life of Marlene J. Williams will be held at 6 PM Thursday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel. Marlene passed away Sunday evening, March 31, 2019 at Hospice House surrounded by her loved ones. She was born October 22, 1941 in Sharon PA, the daughter of George and Anna (Durkis) Karas. Marlene graduated from Hickory High School in 1959 and had worked as an aid for YDC for many years, retiring in 2002. She was a member of St. Anns Byzantine Catholic Church. Marlene loved her family and her dogs. She was known as "Mom" to her sons friends and always put family first. Marlene leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Todd (Joan) Williams and Richard Williams both of Austintown, one brother, George (Marie) Karas of Struthers, one sister, Shirley Shemancik of Buffalo, NY, and several nieces and nephews. She will also be sadly missed by her beloved dog Jessie. Besides her parents, Marlene was preceded in death by her brother-in-law and close friend, Michael Shemancik. Friends may call from 4 to 6 PM Thursday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel where services will begin at 6 PM.
