Marlin D. Ford

Funeral services will be held at 7 PM Monday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Marlin "Whitey" Ford, 75 of Austintown Township, formerly of Lordstown. Whitey passed away on Thursday, November 23rd at Hospice House with his loved ones by his side. Whitey was born February 28, 1942 in Wood, PA., the son of Walter and Blanche M. (Conn) Ford. He was a 1960 graduate of Robertsdale High School in PA and retired from General Motors Lordstown Plant in 2000, where he worked in the paint mixing room and was president of the UAW Local 1112 from 1974 until 1980. He was also the owner and operator of Lordstown Auction for over 20 years. Whitey was a veteran, serving his country in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged December 15, 1961. He was a member of the UAW and the Auctioneers Association. He loved buying, selling and trading. Whitey also enjoyed traveling and gaming. He leaves his wife the former Patty Hunter, whom he married September 18, 1999, three daughters, Marilyn (Jeff Parker) Mitchell of Howland, Lou Anne (Robert) Keebaugh of Chambersburg, PA, and Cassandra Ford of PA., two sons, Edward (Clarissa) Ford of Niles and Scott (Kelli) Hunter of Boardman, 14 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Whitey will also be sadly missed by his grand-dog, Oreo, whom he loved dearly. Besides his parents, Whitey was preceded in death by two brothers, Leon and Ronald, and four sisters, Carmen, Carol, Beverly, and Barbara. Friends may call from 4 to 7 PM Monday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel where services will begin at 7 PM. In lieu of flowers the family requests donation be made to Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Road Youngstown, Ohio 44514, in Whiteys name.
