Martha Mary Brace (Ondash)

Boardman-Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:30AM Friday in St. Christine’s Church for Martha M. (Ondash) Brace of Boardman, who passed away early Tuesday morning in her home. Martha was 81. Martha was born on April 22, 1924 in Youngstown, Ohio and was the daughter of Stephen and Anna (Hyzdos) Ondash. Martha was a 1942 graduate of Chaney High School and a graduate of the YSU Business College. Martha was a homemaker and a member of St. Christine Catholic Church and its Infant of Prague Guild. Martha was also a member of the YWCA for 35 years. Martha was an avid swimmer and golfer. Martha was preceded in death by her husband Ivor H. Brace whom she married May 1945. He passed away in 1990. Martha is survived by her children John “Jack” (Sondra) Brace of Austintown; Beverly (Michael) Hovanic of Olmsted Twp., OH; James (Julie) Brace of Hamilton, OH; Robert (Susan) Brace of Ft. Mills, SC; Phillip Brace of N. Royalton, OH; three sisters Stella Tarantine of Bethelhem, PA; Dorothy Hoeffel of Lavonnia, MI; Ruth Galvin of Girard; a brother Stephen Ondash of Ft. Myers, Fl; eleven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. Besides her husband, Martha was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters Bertha Marchiori and Theresa Ondash. Family will receive friends from 5 until 8 PM Thursday in the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel, where closing prayers will be recited at 11AM Friday. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
